Since its inception, EPIC has invested $219 million into the Grid Decarbonization and Decentralization Program. The program aims to create a decarbonized and more decentralized electricity grid through investment in renewable energy resources, with an emphasis on wind turbines.
Although at a first glance, this program may seem a bit less productive in creating employment compared to the CVRP or AHSC programs, this investment has added a lot of value into the economy. Overall, it has produced an economic output of around $325 million, showing how a ratepayer funded program like EPIC can produce a high-value climate project as well.
