- The geography of green jobs somewhat reflects the geography of blue collar work. Table 8 shows the share of green occupations by type of jobs. Blue collar workers—that is workers who are primarily engaged in physical labor—make up a majority of all green jobs (58%). Knowledge-intensive service workers (e.g., scientists, managers) make up more than 20 percent and slightly fewer workers are in service occupations.
