  • GHG emissions per capita declined 8.7 percent from 2019 to 2020, while the state’s inflation-adjusted GDP per capita declined by 2.7 percent year-over-year over the same time period. Compared to 1990, GHG emissions per capita and inflation-adjusted GDP per capita are down 35 percent and up 67.7 percent, respectively, in 2020. GDP per capita declined for the first time since the Great Recession due to pandemic-induced closures and a slowdown of economic activity. In comparison, GDP per capita in the nation overall fell 3.1 percent from 2019 to 2020.21
